what I wrote in my journal this week

Prayer

Sometimes I feel called to write my prayer down in my book. It is my way of talking to God but also writing down what I want to accomplish in my week. It allows me to write down goals, but also how I can take active steps to achieve them.

Thoughts

Random thought come to mind and sometimes I don’t feel ready to share them or I am not able to call anyone in that moment. I love being able to brain dump my thoughts onto paper so they are not all piling up in my head. Writing them down allows me to see everything in front of me rather than causing stress. When I see everything on paper, I can sort through my thoughts and see what is in my control, what I can take action towards, and what I can release since it is not in my power to control the outcome.

Journal Prompts

Sometimes, when I’m reading a new book or listening to a podcast, I come across something that sparks my curiosity—something I want to explore further or write about to better understand myself and who I’m becoming. Journal prompts give me the space to reflect on these ideas and discover what I can learn from them. For example, this morning I was listening to a podcast where the narrator was talking about emotional triggers. He emphasized how important it is to recognize your triggers so you can work through them and not be affected by other people’s negative opinions. There are some many prompts you can find but here are a few:

  1. What makes your fulfilled and brings you energy? How can I do more of these things this week?
  2. What is 1 topic I’m going to learn more about this week? (Then set intentional time in your planner to do so. Even if its 30 minutes before bed!)
  3. What is something you want to do less of this week? (Ex. Mindless scrolling – remind yourself what your goal is when feeling tempted, and replace it with something else)

Love you all so much, your future self is waiting for you ❤
