This summer in Washington, D.C. unfolded like a sunlit afternoon, filled with warm streets, unexpected conversations, and quiet corners that felt timeless. Between the bustle and the beauty, the city carried a charm that made even the smallest moments feel unforgettable. And so, from these days gathered like postcards, I’ve kept a few reflections, things to do, places to linger, and little tips to make the city your own.
My Perfect Day
Morning walk in Georgetown or on Capitol Hill with a cappuccino in hand listening to a podcast
Do some computer work at tatte in Georgetown
On a weekend: Visit the DuPont Market
Visit a museum of your choice
Do some retail therapy in Georgetown
Dinner at La Bonne Vache
Walk the monuments at night
Listen to jazz at Blues Alley
Day Trips from DC
Baltimore
Annapolis
Alexandria
Long Weekend Trips from DC
New York City – Take the Acela Amtrak from Union Station to Penn Station
Where to Shop
Georgetown – The two main streets are M Street and Wisconsin, and many shops right off
Tyson’s Corner, VA – The silver line takes to directly to the mall
Eats/Coffee
Tatte – There are many locations all around the DMV area, but Georgetown is my favorite
La Bonne Vache – Tucked just off the main streets of Georgetown, this gem is a delicate French restaurant that feels like a quiet escape.
Billy Hicks — My Sunday routine often meant settling in at the bar with a BLT from Billy Hicks, headphones on, and my favorite podcasts carrying me through the afternoon.
